Conclusions
Quality Assessment: Very Good. Wine is complex, very well balanced between alcohol and fruit. Has a refreshing acidity and complexity of all groups of aromas and taste.
Bottle Ageing: Suitable for bottle ageing. There is plenty of acidity and high alcohol content to support ageing. The complexity of aromas being represented from Primary to tertiary show us that the wine has potential to develop further and turn fully into aged tertiary notes.
Final Remarks
Cascina Gilli’s Barbera D’Asti is a great example of the superior category. Grapes are only selected and coming from the oldest vineyards, which 70 are years and older. Great complexity, deep, but also refreshing and making you wanting the next glass. The long fermentation and 9 months barel ageing support that well matured fruit and adds to it notes of that typical sense of being in the wine cellar in Piedmont. It is highly recommended to try this wine, will be great and going up in quality in the next 3 years.
